Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The singer is an important player within music in the Latin mainstream. Una Lady Como Tu from 2016 was awarded an Colombian Kids Choice Award as The Most Popular Song for the year 2017. The year after Medellin, Sony distributed La Industria Inc. and then released ADN as his first full-length album. It peaked at number eight on the Top Latin Albums chart. In the following year, he became part of Ozuna to record their Top Five smash Vaina Loca. He released Dopamina which was his top charting sophomore album the years following. Then in 2021 he sang a duet on TINI's smash streaming track Maldita Foto. In 2023, he appeared on 2000, featuring the huge hit La Bachata. Turizo was brought up in a music-oriented environment because both his mother and older brother are professional musicians. Turizo has told interviews that music is compulsory. He was taught how to play the saxophone, guitar, ukulele, and piano as a young child. Despite initially wanting to work as a vet, Julian convinced him that learning with a Cuban singer would alter the direction of his profession.
