Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri has been a popular Indian actress, who gained recognition for her performance in the films Hum Aapke Haiin Koun and Beta Saajan. The actress began her career in the 80s before coming into prominence thanks to her character in the Tezaab film, in which she appeared alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. She next appeared in the film Dil where she was on screen alongside Aamir Khan. Early on, as a child growing up in Mumbai's middle class she learned to dance. At the age of 15, she started acting but was not successful as a lot of her movies were unsuccessful. Her fame grew and she became one of the top film actresses. After her wedding, she took a career break before reentering the industry. Recently, she played an important part on the film Gulaab Gang. The film featured the challenges faced by women across India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times to win Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of the awards. Padma Shri is the fourth most prestigious civilian award in India. In addition, she is recognized for her charity work.
